Perfection!

May 19, 2015

Perfection! There is no other word to describe it. Sublime might work. Resplendent is not only descriptive but quite fun to say too. Sitting, swinging, sipping and storytelling… ahhhh, now this is life. I cordially invite you to sit, swing (if you’re able) sip and story tell.

A three person swing is the perfect spot for me and my twin girls. It is perfectly positioned in the woods near the creek, surrounded by wild flowers. You too can find your own little treasured spot for some much needed story time with your children or friends. I must mention here that girlfriends could do with a bit of story time together. Jane Austin is perfect for this. You may not have a swing, but a cozy corner on the sofa works wonderfully too. (and the mosquitos can’t find you there.)

Here is what you need for this much needed, necessary, non-optional time. A good book, children or friends and some lemonade.

Here is my quick and easy, yummy lemonade recipe. For 2 quarts, you need 2 lemons, 4 packs of stevia and water.

Cut the lemons in half and extract juice.

I have a hand held citrus squeezer or, my favorite, electric citrus juicer.

Pour the juice into a container and add 4 packets of stevia.

Fill with water 2/3 full then top off with ice.

Now grab a wonderful book. Today I recommend two that we are reading simultaneously. “The Penderwicks.” There are 4 books in this series. Mama’s Cupboard carries the one we are reading now. “The Penderwicks on Gardam Street.” and “The Rise and Fall of Mount Majestic.”

These are both wonderful choices and both are available at Mama’s Cupboard. I implore you to proceed at a less than usual speed through your day and through life. Sit, Sip, swing and fill your life with moments that count.

Mama’s Cupboard is located at 721 N. Webster, Kokomo IN. We are open 10-5 Thursday, Friday and Saturday (sorry, on the other days I’m sitting, and swinging.)

721 N. Webster is at the corner of Webster and Madison, 2 blocks north of Jefferson on the north side of Fire and Flood Recovery. Come and visit!
