Take a Little Retreat This Spring

March 21, 2013

The big visit has come to a close. My son Josh came home from The International House of Prayer for a four day visit. I blinked, and it was over. But what a marvelous visit it was. For two months now, my son has had the privilege of sitting at the feet of Jesus; no distractions and no cares of this world to choke out that which is being poured in. The fruit of the spirit was overflowing and tumbling out of him.

Life just tends to choke us all. Daily we just go about our own business and there it is like a giant anaconda wrapped around our necks gradually choking the precious seed that God has deposited. For almost two years now, I have been blogging and sounding the alarm. I have been clanging the bell, sounding the horn and hollering from the roof tops; STOP, SLOW DOWN! So much more is at stake than we realize.

Even though my own life is drastically different now than it was two years ago and even though I have done well to follow some of my own advice; my son’s visit has once again reminded me of the great cost of our current busy lifestyles and the great gain in truly changing how we view life and live it.

God has had me on an amazing journey; one I would highly recommend.  It has not always been easy; especially to my flesh, but the destination is a much more desirable one than where I was heading.  Most of us are on the same journey but just as the heat of a summer’s day causes a mirage to appear upon the road; life and the enemy create illusions along our paths; illusions that derail, detour and even shipwreck us.  It is time to reprogram the GPS.

In the month of April, I will be sharing at two women’s conferences.  I invite all of you to come and join me.  I hope to share truths that you will be able to take and really change the direction you are heading.  Jesus has so much more for us than we are experiencing now.  The lives that many of us are living are not true life and many of us are chasing illusions that will neither satisfy nor benefit us.

The links below are for the churches where I will be sharing.  Come join me and let us become great adventurers together as we plot a new course and find a new way.
