No Doubt Can Restrain Him!

August 13, 2012

“No dout can restrain Him!”  What an amazing verse found in a praise song.  I have sung this song many times but yesterday the truth of this versve was revealed.

As you may have noticed, I have been blogless for a while.  For the past month I have been on a journey.  Recently I watched the movie trailor for “The Hobbit.”  Bilbo asks Gandalf if Gandalf can promise that he will return from his journey.  Gandalf says “no, but if you do return, you will not be the same.”  My journey is not over, but already I am not the same.

My younger sister has been visiting with me for the past month; and it has been a journey for both of us.  I have been amazed as I have walked through the best and worst of times. (to borrow from “A Tale of Two Cities”)  The time I have spent with my sister has been the best of times.  This month has been the realization of hopes, dreams and prayers.  I have seen the truth of that verse in the song.  My moments of doubt, the times when I lost hope, my unbelief, NEVER restrained God.  He was working, loving, healing and setting free all throughout the years.

Together with my entire family, we attended, and truly celebrated the wedding of my brother.  The wedding was a TRUE celebration.  He was marrying a wonderful, Godly woman and serving God himself.  His prior life included prision and drug addiction.  But on that day we joined him as he married the woman God had chosen for him, clean, set free and a new creation.

Yesterday, my sister was baptised at my church.  I got to help baptise her.  The two days prior to her baptism, we attended an awsome conference where we praised God and danced before him, hand in hand.

I have prayed and sought God for my family for over 20 years, and God’s word is true, He does more than we can even think or imagine. My doubt never restrained Him.  He never quit working and drawing and loving.  In the midst of my own trial, He showed me that He is about victory; that He is about restoration; that ALL things through Him ARE possible.

Today, I just want to encourage those who may be doubting.  I just want to cheer on those who have waited and waited for the answer to their prayers.  I just want to remind each of us that it is not what we see that is reality.  Renew your mind.  Believe what He promises for that is the truth.  That is reality.

May this day be filled with the revelation that He is working, although we see it not.  May you be encouraged that His will, WILL be done!

Great post today! I have tears of happiness for your family. In a world of wanting instant gratification it is sometimes hard to remember that God’s timing is always perfect.

Took me forever to get around to reading this post. Perhaps God knew that today I would need this encouragement more than I’ve needed it in a long time. Rejoicing with you, my friend and so thankful that you shared this encouragement with me!!
