Dancing Into My Dreams

Dancing Into My Dream

The dreams of a mother’s heart are many.  Dreams in my heart are being birthed almost daily; or maybe it is the same dream only becoming clearer and more defined.  Last night was a night when I got to see one dream that I have, materialize into a glorious event.

The snow was gently falling; setting the stage for a memorable evening.  The Elliot House, a beautiful historical mansion was the scene for the evening’s event.  38 elegantly dressed ladies and gentlemen arrived to attend the Valentine Ball.

A year and a half ago, I was smitten with 18th century dance.  My husband and I spent an evening spinning and laughing and we knew we needed to resurrect this wonderful historical pastime.  We began the Historical Family Dance Society with the hope of bringing families together for some good old fashioned fun.  Last night was our 16th dance and one of the loveliest.

Today I want to share some photos with you; the evidence of dreams come true.  Our family now has a hobby that we all enjoy together.  It not only brings us closer but has brought a group of special people into our lives.  The society provides a group of young people an opportunity for wholesome fun entertainment.  Through dance, we have provided fathers the opportunity to dance with their daughters and mothers, their sons.  Sisters and brothers actually waltz together instead of arguing and young ladies and men can have a “date” that is proper and wholesome.

What are your dreams?  Mine is to enjoy life and my family.  Last night, I did just that!
