Change Can Start With a List

October 28, 2011

It is time for some reflection.  You have an entire weekend for the task.  Not long ago I challenged you to make a list of your favorite things.  I hope you made time for this pleasurable task.  It takes very few items on your list before a smile spreads across your face.  One favorite thing quickly leads to another and pretty soon you can’t jot them down fast enough and you’re now in a wonderful mood to boot.

I want you to make two lists this time.  One list will be the important things in your life.  The other list will be the urgent things that demand your time.  Once you have completed the lists, compare them and see which list you spend more time on.  Make a commitment to yourself that you will spend more time on the items on the important list.

Sometimes we are not even sure where our time goes each day.  We just know that we are running all day and we don’t know where the time went.  It is time to find out and it is time to do some analyzing and planning.  Lists can sometimes reveal things we were unaware of.  Take the time.  Make a list.  It is a good start to some needed change.

Today my blog has had 3200 views.  Thank you!  All of you are on both my urgent and important list.  Please keep reading.

It is a family joke around here….”Our momma the eternal list maker.” I do like your ideas for lists…think I might try these. Thanks for the suggestions.
