That’s What Friends Are For by: Jared Spence

September 9, 2011

It’s Jared’s turn today.  My 15 year old is our guest blogger for today.  Here is his paper that he wrote for writing class.  Enjoy!

One of my favorite past times is playing videogames. There’s an endless variety of videogames to choose from. Some videogames are based off of books, some are inspired by movies and others were thought of using none other than the producer’s creative brain. Many videogames are very expensive, but free videogames can be found online and played an unlimited amount of time without any cost to the individual. Many video games you can play online with other people. Statistics show that 65% of U.S. households experience the joy of playing videogames. My household is included in that statistic, so I know firsthand why so many people play videogames.

While videogames are fun, nothing can compare to the excitement of hanging out with friends.

When hanging out with friends, there is an endless amount of fun to be had. Some of the few things you can do with your friends are: going to the mall, playing videogames, watching movies, going skateboarding, cutting down trees, setting off explosives, releasing large and potentially dangerous predators into freshwater lakes, and so on and so forth. Of course these are not the only things you can do when hanging out with friends. You can also do boring stuff together like: sit around, or do homework. Not every game is worth spending time on but every friend is worth spending time with.

Get up and make plans to hang out with your best friend. It sure beats playing with fake animated friends. Try something new for a change. Did you go to the mall last time? Then this time  try bowling, play murder in the dark, dam up the creek or see a movie at the theater. It’s your choice. With friends anything is possible.
