For the Girl He’s Going to Marry

August 2, 2011

Did you know that you have been a part of our family ever since our son was born?  From the moment the doctor said “it’s a boy” you have been in our prayers.

When he first began to crawl then take his first steps we knew he would one day walk down the aisle.  We prayed he would find the right one to walk down that aisle with.

When at 4 years old he told us he wanted Jesus in his heart, we prayed that you too would ask Jesus into yours.

When we spanked him, disciplined him, trained him and guided him we prayed for your parents that they would raise you to be a Godly woman.

When we protected him from harm and kept him safe, we prayed that you too would be protected from all harm.

When he complained about our no dating rules, we prayed that you would be kept safe and pure for your marriage.

You have been in our prayers from the beginning and you will continue to be in our prayers.  But no longer are you a faceless girl somewhere in the world.  You will now be his wife.  You will now be our daughter.  And someday you will be a mother and you will begin to pray.  You will pray for that one who will someday marry your child and I will pray along with you, for my prayers have been answered.

It has been our prayer also through the years for our daughter to have a husband who has been raised in a Godly home and has seen the beauty of a marriage that is God honoring. Thanks for raising a young boy into a young man that will honor our prayers to our God.

Debbie, Jac and I have had the same experience. We are now seeing the fruit of those prayers and God’s mercy and provision for Phillipe. Praise His Holy Name.
