Any Time is Picnic Time

June 14, 2011

So now you have been enlightened and are ready to enjoy lunch alfresco on a regular basis.  Do not limit yourself, picnics are not only for lunch.  A breakfast picnic is a delightful way to begin your day.  A dinner picnic can turn into an evening under the stars gazing together at constellations.  You would indeed be victorious if you were so relaxed that evening was able to sneak up on you.

The breakfast picnic can be as simple as grabbing a box of cereal, a jug of milk, some bowls and spoons and heading out to the yard.  The birds are so active and vocal in the morning, it can be so enjoyable to just eat, watch the birds and enjoy the morning.  You will be amazed at how differently your day will progress when you start it off with a picnic.  That sense of “hurry, hurry!” will seem to dissipate and you will proceed at a much slower and calm pace.  You may even decide to forgo a few of the sceduled activities in lieu of a few more moments in bliss.

At the end of a busy day, a picnic is a great way to unwind.  Take your dinner otside.  As you lie in the grass, the cares of the day will just melt away.  Many of us are so busy throughout the day and a lunch picnic is not an option.  Remember, we are out of the box in our thinking and picnics are not just for lunch.  connecting with our families with some special time should be our daily goal.  An evening picnic may just be the thing to satisfy that goal.

    Debbie,
This is a great idea! I never thought of a breakfast picnic.

As a friend commented, it’s just about “eating on a blanket” anytime, anywhere. So go grab your neice and nephew and “eat on a blanket.” Keep reading, my blog is for uncles too.
